Instructor of Classical Languages (Middle School): Description and Responsibilities
The Classical Languages Instructor is responsible for the instruction of elementary and intermediate levels in Greek and Latin in the Middle School (grades 6-8). The Instructor will:

Work with the other Classical Languages faculty in establishing an appropriate sequence of skill acquisition.

Teach students to approach the created world, their peers, and their academic subjects in a spirit of wonder, enthusiasm, and diligence.

Model and encourage an understanding and appreciation of the subject.

Establish and maintain a syllabus for the class that clearly outlines for parents the goals, learning outcomes, and work you expect the students to accomplish in the year.

Maintain grade books for all students, updating grades and comments (when applicable) every two weeks or more.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Knowledge of Classical Languages (Greek and Latin) and a thorough understanding of how to guide students through their study. Teaching experience in a classical, Charlotte Mason, or Waldorf school preferred. Extensive personal and/or professional experience in working with children. Excellent rapport with students of all ages. Strong understanding of the ethos and values of The Saint Constantine School philosophy of education and play.
Reports To: Dean of Middle School
Salary Classification: Full-time, exempt, twelve months
Supervision of Others: No
Hours Per Week: 40
