Saint Constantine School Purchases School Campus
HOUSTON TX— The Saint Constantine School, a PreK4-through-College private school operating in southwest Houston, purchased property at 6000 Dale Carnegie Lane from The College of Biblical Studies on September 13, 2018. The Saint Constantine School (TSCS) has occupied the property since March 2016.
The purchase includes three existing buildings that sit on approximately 5.8 acres. Building square footage is almost 17,000 square feet and contains twelve classrooms and fifteen offices. Property features include mature trees, fields, and the Natural Playground and garden constructed during TSCS’s tenancy, which together occupy over 3.5 acres of green space.
TSCS President Dr. John Mark Reynolds was thrilled that the school’s location has been secured for the future, and that the school will be staying in its original location. “A good location makes sure that our students can receive a quality education,” said Reynolds. “Having a permanent home right where we started means we are already building a history and community and that those shared memories–tied to a beautiful place–can continue.”
This property purchase kicks off a five-year plan which positions TSCS as one of the premiere private schools in Houston. The first phase of construction–including a new classroom building, campus entrance from Regency Square Boulevard, and courtyard–begins this winter and will be completed in August 2019. Plans were developed with architect firm Goulas & Associates, Inc., and the construction will be completed by E&S Construction Inc.
“Completing the purchase of our campus allows us, first of all, to continue serving the full range of students to whom we are committed–all the way from Pre-Kindergarten through college students earning Bachelor’s degrees,” said TSCS Provost Dr. Robert Stacey.
“Owning the property also affords us the opportunity to expand our facilities with additional construction to grow into a fully-integrated, scholarly community of 450 to 550 students, which has always been our aspiration.”
With this purchase TSCS completes a 30-month lease-to-own agreement with The College of Biblical Studies (CBS), who have owned the property since 1994. Prior to 2016, the parcel was leased to Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS).
