Caitlin Gilbert has a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Talbot School of Theology, and a degree in English Literature from Biola University, where she is a perpetual member of The Torrey Honors Institute. Cate was homeschooled her entire life, and was tutored throughout high school in the great books, classics, and Euclidean geometry by Fritz Hinrichs of Escondido Tutorial Services. She is the founder and former director of The Academy, an innovative, great books-based, dual-credit program at Houston Baptist University, and serves as the Director of Staff and Student Care for Wheatstone Ministries. She recently contributed a chapter on Lent to Let Us Keep the Feast a book about the Christian church year, and writes and speaks regularly on education, personal growth, and helping kids grow into mature Christian adults.
Having grown up in the wine country of Southern California, Cate feels best when surrounded by plants and animals, which may explain her penchant for picking up stray dogs. She likes to cook, misses her family and horses back in California, and is enjoying her newly-married life with her husband, David.
